About Me

I use Art History to make sense of the world that came before me.
I use Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies to make sense of the current world around me.
I use Studio Art to make sense of my place within the world that surrounds me.
My time at Agnes Scott College has allowed me to explore these three fields in tandem through research and practice, and throughout these 4 years I have been encouraged to dive deeper and explore niche subjects including disability, fatness, and gendered labor. My creative process has begun to shift from studio work to writing and research as I feel better able to explore these ideas more clearly. Studio work is reserved for abstract or subverted ideas that are served better by visual mediums. Through writing or creating, the process of getting to a final product needs constant revisions as more information is gathered. It is impossible to create without learning. I hope to pursue a PhD in Art History and become an arts educator so that I will be able to teach the importance of intersectional learning.
